Before the cold weather comes, we still have a few sunny days left. Like myself, you are probably trying to get in as many outdoor activities as possible. Although it might not cross your mind, washing your own car can be a fun activity to add to that list. Not only does it provide exercise, and a clean vehicle but it also saves you money in the long run!
You will first need a hose attached to some sort of water supply, and it is best to have a spray nozzle on it to control water pressure. Typically there is a spot along the outside of your house that will have a faucet you can screw your hose into for water. Now that you have got that under control, you need car wash supplies.
You will need a sponge of some sort. A big sponge is best to cover the large surface area of the car. You can use a natural sea sponge or a synthetic sponge, the choice is yours! A sturdy bucket is the next of the car wash supplies. As long as the bucket holds at least two gallons of water, you can use just about any sort. A bucket and sponge would be no good, however, without some car wash soap!
There are many different types of car wash soap that you can buy, but make sure that the kind you pick is specially formulated for washing your vehicle. It is best to stick with the real thing, since house hold soaps could ruin the finish on your car. Now that you have all of the car wash supplies you need for a basic wash you can begin.
If you want to make your car look even more amazing, there are a couple of other things you can look into. A chamois cloth is good to have to dry your car by hand so it does not streak. After the car is dry, you can also wax it with special car wax to give it a luster that can not be beat. Just about all of these supplies can be purchased at your local grocery or specialty shop. Although the initial cost of buying these items might seem more than the price of a car wash, you can use them again and again, saving you quite a bit of money in the long run. Do it yourself car washing is an all around win, and between the sun and exercise, you will be cruising around your spotless hot rod with a smile!

Car owners accessorize their cars much more there than they do here. They add chrome wheels and custom door lock knobs. It is a way to express yourself. It is who you are. A car is a way to get around on the East Coast.

It is the industrial age that has made possible for an average person to access the once commercially available car wax. The modern technology has made it possible to produce car wax in greater numbers. It is due to the mass production that the car wax is widely available to every one. Unfortunately, the overproduction has provided an opportunity to the con artists. Don’t fall for the cheap products that will never fulfill your desire of an exhibition quality finish.

Certain natural colors like red are exposed to the natural sunlight that makes them vulnerable to rust. Car polish acts to preserve the car paint and protects it from getting dull. Contrary to certain advertisement flicks, every time the car is polished, a layer of the original paint is peeled off. It is therefore necessary to use a fine cotton cloth to polish the car. Cotton doesn’t harm the paint and mixes well with the natural ingredients present in the car polish.

Due to the mass commercialization and the popularity of car polish, it is readily available in stores. To better appreciate the use of car polish, it should be understood that the polish acts like a sand on the surface of the vehicle. The only major difference is that it is an abrasive substance that sticks to the outer frame and makes it shiny. Due to oxidization, certain car colors are prone to get rusty quickly. To protect the exposure, the car polish acts as the first line of defense against the fury of nature.

Be cautious and avoid buying the cheap stuff. Do your research over the internet to find a better quality. Buying a car wax is only the first step to a greater shine. You should know the basics. Make sure that the car wax is applied to different parts of the car and let it dry before using a damp cloth to wipe it off.

In fact the sand also shines the surface but the only difference between the two substance lies in the abrasive nature of the car polish which makes it stick, harden and shine, at the same time. Certain natural colors like red are exposed to the natural sunlight that makes them vulnerable to rust. Car polish acts to preserve the car paint and protects it from getting dull. It should also be noticed that every time the car is painted, a layer of original paint is affected to a certain extent. It is therefore necessary to use a fine cotton cloth to polish the car.

Be careful when applying wax near the joints of car doors and hood as the accumulating wax can harm the levers. After waxing the entire vehicle in patches, take a soft cloth to start cleaning the wax from the initial start point. While cleaning, you will notice that the wax will gradually build up on the cleaning cloth. Therefore, shake the cloth as often as possible. After polishing, you might notice tiny round spots.
