Finishing a cleaning job on a car with a coat of car wax will make it look as if it was just brought from the dealers. There are many bands of car wax available online and a customer has a wide choice when shopping on the internet. Consumer reports are also available about car wax brands reviewed by experts and the customer can make an informed choice of the brand most suitable for the car based on these consumer reports. Car wax is an investment because it protects the paint of the car from fading and reacting with pollutants and prevents the metal on the surface of the car from rusting.
The car looks clean and new for a longer time after a periodic application of car wax and its reselling value increases Car polishes are not the same as car wax because they merely buff the car and remove any dust accumulated on the surface while car wax gives a clean protective and shining coat to the paint of the car. For a glossy and glamorous car you should apply car wax every three months Water cannot remove spots on the surface of a car as effectively as car wax. When you drive a car to which you have applied car wax often the car will look good and you will feel good driving it.

To better appreciate the use of car polish, it should be understood that the polish acts like a sand on the surface of the vehicle. The only major difference is that it is an abrasive substance that sticks to the outer frame and makes it shiny. Certain natural colors like red are exposed to the natural sunlight that makes them vulnerable to rust. To protect the exposure, the car polish acts as the first line of defense against the fury of nature. Contrary to certain advertisement flicks, every time the car is polished, a layer of the original paint is peeled off.

I suppose with those guidelines, you might be destined to wax your car once a week. If you read the directions on the tub of car wax, it will tell you that when water does not bead on your car, it is time to wax.
You have two choices for waxing your car. You can do it yourself (or make one of your kids do it, in which case, there are three options for getting your car waxed) or take it to a detailer and have the professionals do it. It seems to me that when I have professionals wax my car, it lasts a lot longer than when I do it.

You can do it yourself (or make one of your kids do it, in which case, there are three options for getting your car waxed) or take it to a detailer and have the professionals do it. Whenever I wax my car, it does not seem to stay shiny as long as when I have a car detailing place do it. It could be that they are using better car wax or that I just have bad technique. But here is how the experts tell you to apply car wax. Start with a freshly washed car.

A source of clean running water is the first thing you will need to wash your car. Any backyard hose with a sprayer on it should work just fine. Be sure to park your car as near to the hose as possible so you can be sure it will reach all the way around your car.
You will need a bucket of some sort, preferably one that will hold two gallons or so. Soap is the next thing you will need, which is probably the most important part of your car wash.
December 7th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
You might want to test it on a section of the car that isn’t visible a few days before just to be absolutely certain that nothing bad will happen, for example, your paint rubbing off. I like to start at the top of the car and work down because there is a better chance of dirt being left on the bottom of the car. If you make that your last section, you won’t rub dirt all over the entire car-it will be concentrated to that one area.
Once you have completed the application process, buff your car to a nice shine using a soft, clean towel. I like to buy a towel specifically for this process, but anything you have on hand that is clean and soft will work just fine.

Professional Service Car Wash: A full service car wash has a lot of pros. The obvious thing is that it’s ridiculously easy. and gets your car ridiculously clean. A professional car wash also requires less water than using the hose at home; 11 gallons or so for a small car, and 20 gallons or so for a truck or sport utility vehicle. On the other hand, some professional car washes can harm the environment in other ways.

The only major difference is that it is an abrasive substance that sticks to the outer frame and makes it shiny. Certain natural colors like red are exposed to the natural sunlight that makes them vulnerable to rust. Car polish acts to preserve the car paint and protects it from getting dull. It should also be noticed that every time the car is painted, a layer of original paint is affected to a certain extent. Always use cotton clothing to polish the car.

The car wax also seals the paint so there is not contact of water with the paint which could lead to corrosion. Car wax has to be reapplied regularly and is not permanent. The life of a good quality car wax is 3 to 4 months thus there is a need for reapplication every 3 months.
IT is advisable that before waxing a car it should be buffered for any irregularities and to remove scratches, after which the wax should be applied, which is repeated every three months. The requirements to wax your car, is a good quality wax, a clean towel and a small sponge.

This can happen for several reasons. Some people just do not know they should go out and do it or that it can keep their car looking new. Other people believe that they do not have to use car wax because it has a clear coat on it.
The problem is the actual purpose of car wax gets lost in the translation of what really happens. In the past wax used to be used to maintain the color of cars.
December 15th, 2008 at 1:09 pm
Ensure that you car is clean and dry before you initiate the process of waxing your car. It is advisable to ensure you buy a non abrasive car wax so your car does not get damaged in any way Advisably you should go through directions provided on the package itself and test the wax on a small area first so as to check if it is right for your car.
While using liquid car wax, first shake the bottle well, and put small amount of the wax on the sponge to apply evenly on the car. A general approach is to start with the top and move the bottom panels subsequently as it is known that the bottom panels of a car are always dirtier. it is preferable to make a thin and even layer all over the car and thick layers should be avoided as due to that the shine is lost.

The choice is yours whether to use a synthetic or natural sea sponge for the job. A sturdy bucket is the next of the car wash supplies. As long as the bucket holds at least two gallons of water, you can use just about any sort. A bucket and sponge would be no good, however, without some car wash soap!
There are many different types of car wash soap that you can buy, but make sure that the kind you pick is specially formulated for washing your vehicle. It is best to stick with the real thing, since house hold soaps could ruin the finish on your car.

Once the wax clouds up, remove it with your clean cloth. Shake out the cloth a lot to avoid wax build up.
Use the opportunity to inspect your car, as you wash and put on car wax. Things that start small can easily become corroded or damaged. Take your car to a body shop to have those small things repaired, or do it yourself.

Contrary to certain advertisement flicks, every time the car is polished, a layer of the original paint is peeled off. It is therefore necessary to use a fine cotton cloth to polish the car. The Summer months are upon us, and there are still plenty of things we need to get done. With work, mowing the lawn and carting our kids to swimming lessons, it may seem like the list of tasks is endless. To make matters more difficult, the economy has gone slightly sour and we often feel the pinch in our wallets for things like electricity to run our air conditioners, and pumps for our swimming pools. In light of all this, there are ways to cut down on spending and one little thing that can help stretch your money is washing your own vehicle.
Car wash supplies are essential for a do it yourself operation.
February 5th, 2009 at 3:02 pm
To get started, you will need a few car wash supplies.
There are a variety of different brands and types that you can use, but one thing is for certain, which is that you need a sponge! The best kind to use is large, to cover the big surface area of the car. The choice is yours whether to use a synthetic or natural sea sponge for the job. Now that you have your sponge, you will need a sturdy bucket. You can use any sort of bucket, provided that it holds at least a couple of gallons of water.

Does that mean you do not need car wax anymore? While car wax probably won’t improve the shine of the clear top coat, environmental factors such as rain, sunlight, and road debris will eat at the finish of a car. After washing your car, adding a coat of car wax can help protect the paint on your car against environmental factors.
Car waxes are not all the same. These include liquid, paste, and the spray on, wipe off types. The hardest to apply is liquid car wax and this is also the hardest car wax to buff out after applying.
March 20th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
What does car wax do, exactly?
Car wax creates a barrier between your car’s paint and damaging substances like bird droppings and tree sap, protecting the paint. It also protects the paint from ultraviolet induced fading and reduces oxidation in the paint. Some of the newer waxes contain ingredients that also reduce the appearance of minute scratches in the car’s finish and clean the car. But the most visible effect is the creation of rich, deep color and a high shine.
How often should I apply car wax?
Every two to three months, depending on the type of wax you use.

If either of these statements pertain to you, then you should be in the market to purchase car wax.
There are a few things to know about car wax before you make your purchase and get going. There are many good brands of wax to choose from, but your best bet is buying a kind that contains carnauba wax. Carnauba wax is more expensive than other kinds because it is shown to be superior at sealing in your finish and it is easier to buff on and off.
Another tip is that it is best to avoid waxes containing granules or anything abrasive unless you are a professional.

Tree sap, dirt, and bugs get stuck on there and can leave permanent spots. (If you already have some spots from years of non washing, take comfort in knowing car wax might help. ) If you are washing your car at home, make sure you use non abrasive cleaning mitts and a car safe detergent. Regular old dish detergent is usually not recommended. If you put your dirty wash cloth into the soapy water, it will put all that grime back in the soap.

The newest kind of car wax is the spray on, wipe off car wax. This kind of car wax can be applied to a car that is still wet from washing but the shine does not last very long.
How do you know what kind of car wax to use? It depends on the size and age of your car, how much work you are willing to do, and how much time you are willing to put into waxing your car. If your car is only one or two years old, the finish should still be good and you will only need a light spray wax to make it shine. For an older car with a worn finish, you should use liquid car wax because it will clean as well as shine your car.

Work your way around the entire outside of the car using these circular motions, reapply wax to your sponge when necessary. Take care to avoid the cracks between the hood, doors and trunk. If you get some wax in these seams, you can use a soft bristle toothbrush to gently remove it.
Wax will be dry where you began once you have worked around the entire car. Remove wax with the terry cloth towel from where you began, using the same motions.

If your car is detailed with a lot of plastic, find a wax that is rated as working well with plastic.
How durable do you want the car wax to be, and how long are you willing to spend in applying it? Consumer Reports performed a comparison test and found that liquid waxes were the most durable and the best at cleaning. However, because they took extra time to spread evenly and without streaking, they took the longest to apply. Spray on waxes were the fastest to apply, but they lasted the least amount of time and were the least effective at cleaning. Consumer Reports recommended them mainly for new cars whose finishes were in excellent condition, for owners who were willing to wax frequently, and for stopgap treatments in between treatments with liquid or paste wax.

Also, never polish the car in a cold or humid environment. As a first step, park your car under a shade.
Start by applying the polish in circular motions all over the car body. Make sure that the wax doesn’t stick in the crevices along the doors and trunk. Always use a cotton cloth to remove the paint.

Some car washes have the high pressure wheel washing and total vehicle coverage. Some of the usual car washes also have the spay head which sprays concentrated blast of water. Then for the wheel washer, they have the rotating manifold for the front and read tires. Compared with the drive way car and parking lot washing, they are more environmentally friendly. The reason is that car washes have waste water treatment facilities.

A good car wax is usually stiff and relatively hard to buff on and off the vehicle. If you feel your arms getting tired, that usually means you have some quality car wax on your hands! Soft waxes are easier to put on and remove, but they usually do not protect as well.
Spray on and rub on waxes are two sorts which are widely available. In the case of someone who has arthritis or hand sensitivity, spray wax can be wonderful. Since these kinds of waxes are softer, however, you will have to apply them more frequently for maximum results.

Some have fillers too to fill in the scratch marks.
Application of car polish is a painstaking procedure, a technique that needs to be mastered. The first step is to wash the car . Wash first with plain water and then with a car specified detergent mix. Detergent used for washing clothes are never to be used as they are strong and may damage your car paint.
